Pro Am

Craig Spence shoots a course record 65 to win our 2007 Pro Am in spectacular style.

Tuesday November 27 was bright and sunny, but extremely windy.  Our Club Professional Russell Wilson estimated that it was a 5 shot wind.  In these conditions Craig Spence played a spectacular round of golf to win with a 6 under par 65.   Shaun Crowe was second with a round of 70.

The field was full with siren starts in the morning and afternoon.  Members wanting to play needed to enter a ballot to gain entry.  Everyone who played had a good time and enjoyed the day.  Lunch was provided and the afternoon round was followed by drinks on the terrace and then dinner in the lounge and the awarding of prizes.

The course was presented in excellent condition by our ground staff with the greens hard and fast.

Our nominated charity this year was BEYOND BLUE the National Depression Initiative.  A cheque for $5,000 was presented during the dinner.

Congratulations to the winning amateur group which was full of champions - Steve Donald our Club Champion, Marino Colombo our District Champion and Nathan Ridley our Junior Champion.
