Bowls Club History

Established in 1969 the Country Club Bowls Section celebrated its 50th Anniversary in October 2019. The club have three Grass bowling greens, 2 made of Bent grass and 1 being Tiftdwarf and a very adequate clubhouse.

In 1968 the club built its first bowling green, which was opened on the 12th October 1969.Today we have added another two greens and we are truly indebted to our early members for their foresight and planning.

During our many stages of development numerous members have volunteered their labour to build our very extensive complex and because of their efforts we all take pride in our club.

To view today our three magnificent greens presided over by a most attractive clubhouse is indeed a sight to behold and complements our continued progress.

Early competition days were limited to Thursdays and Saturdays, however competition bowls days now include Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays with Pennant being played on Tuesday and Saturdays throughout the season. Social Bowls can be played during the year either in Mufti dress or uniform, however with approved bowling shoes.
